This blog will post and coordinate (and sometimes inter-relate) entries related to the personal and professional interests of its author, Lamar Ross. His interests are many, including genealogy and family history; real estate investment, internet marketing, the relationship between language and culture, information entrepreneuring, publishing, motivational topics, and travel.

Every day brings something new and exciting to the author. Since his retirement (that word is used very loosely) in 2001, he has been actively involved in writing (2 books presently in progress); real estate investment, and info-entrepreneuring. He is also a published genealogical author.

This is not his first foray into the internet arena. From 1997 to 1999, Dr. Ross was Vice-President of JLR International Enterprises, Inc. The company specialized in providing business services related to the internet and advertising communications. The company provided Internet Educational Seminars, Web Page Design Consultation, Web Page Construction Services, Internet Classisfied Advertisements, Registration of Domain Names, Web Page Hosting Services, and Virtual Office Systems.

Dr. Ross received his Ph.D degree in Anthropology at the University of Georgia in 1973. His combination of educational and business experiences is unique and has led to many successful endeavors in both areas.

His educational experience includes several earned degrees. He has a B.A. in Spanish, M.A. in Anthropology, a Ph.D. in Anthropology (all from the University of Georgia); graduate coursework in Latin American Studies ( Indiana University ); coursework in Urban and Regional Studies ( University of New Orleans ); and a Fullbright Summer Study in India program. He had conferences both with Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister and M.V. Giri, the President, while participating in that program. He has traveled extensively in Europe, China, India, Canada, and Latin America.

Dr. Ross has taught in several departments at the college and university level. He began as an instructor of Spanish and Coordinator of Foreign Language Studies at Lee University , Cleveland, Tennessee. He later taught Anthropology, Sociology, and Geography at several universities, including theUniversity of Georgia, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the University of New Orleans, Inter American University of Puerto Rico, and Florida International University . As an adjunct professor he also taught core courses in the Construction Management Program at Florida International University.

Dr. Ross is a State of Florida Certified General Contractor who has worked for major commercial construction firms and has been project manager on major commercial projects running up to thirteen million dollars. For two years he was part owner and President of Florida Contractor Services, Inc. of Miami, Florida.

He retired from the Miami-Dade County Building Department in Miami, Florida in January of 2001. At that time he moved to the Orlando area. Since that time he has dedicated himself to his real estate investments, cruising the world with his wife, visiting his children and grandchildren, writing, and now, getting ready again to serve others again through his latest endeavor, www.webinfopreneur.com.
